Leather strop

CA$25.00

If you’re not stropping your knives, you’re seriously missing out!

The purpose of a leather strop is to realign the edge of your knife, which maintains a sharp cutting edge and extends the life of your blade.

Unlike sharpening, stropping doesn’t remove any material from your blade and can be done effectively in less than a minute.

Simply hold the strop steady in whatever fashion you like (I prefer a slight angle) and run the edge of your knife against it with firm pressure, alternating sides. If done on a kitchen knife, make sure that you’re not bending the blade by applying too much force. Wash the knife after stropping if it’s used for preparing food.

The board is made birch wood and coated with boiled linseed oil to protect it from the elements.

The leather is vegetable tanned and comes pre-loaded with stropping compound to increase effectiveness.

Measurements:

Stropping surface: 19cm/9’’ x 4.4cm/1.7’’

Total length: 26cm or 10.2’’

FREE SHIPPING, best bought with a knife.
